Merrifield is a Certified Safety Consultant and approved Aerial Lift Instructor by the International Powered Access Federation. He is the Chairman of ANSI’s committee for aerial work platforms and peer reviewer for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (“NIOSH”) study of scissor lift tip-overs. Merrifield also serves on the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for the International Standards Organization (“ISO”), the international organization that produces safety and training standards for aerial lifts.
